Qantas is giving free points and status credits to recent customers

Qantas has today announced another huge profit result, as well as a nice little bonus for customers.

The airline is giving Frequent Flyers who have flown at least one Qantas flight in the past 12 months their choice of Qantas points or status credits.

Eligible customers will receive an email inviting them to choose between 1,000 points or 30 status credits.

Those who flew 10 or more times will be gifted 5,000 points or 75 status credits.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said: “Our customers have shown a lot of patience and understanding as the industry has recovered. We’ve announced a points or status credits gift today but we know the best way we can thank them is to consistently deliver the standards they rightly expect, and reinvest our profits to keep improving their experience.”

Qantas has announced a further investment into new aircraft, including a mix of A350s and 787s to replace the current A330 and A380 fleet.

The airline is also launching a huge fare sale today. Qantas fares will be up to 40 per cent off, including return flights from Sydney to London for $1799 and Melbourne to Los Angeles for $1199.

Jetstar fares are up to half price, with domestic Jetstar flights starting from as low as $29 one-way and Jetstar international flights from $145 one-way.

Customers who still have Covid credits can use them on these fares.

  1. I have the latest version of the app, and nothing appears on the Home Screen about Bonus Points and I haven’t received an email.
    Typical of Qantas!

  2. I just saw this post and had 10 flights with Qantas during that period. I have never received an email from qantas. I am a gold frequent flyer. Can I still get the status credit. Surely it defeats the purpose of rewarding loyal customisers if there was a deadline to claim this bonus. Also without receiving an email from them

  3. I have flown several Qantas flights within the qualifying period for the Qantas gift but did not receive the offer. What action should I take to claim the reward? Thanks in advance.

  4. I have 2.250.000 points and I have being trying for the past 9 months to get 2 business class return tickets to London to see my daughter, and every time I call I am told that no tickets are available and if they did gold status customers would snatch them first. So what’s the point of accumulating Quantas frequent flyer points, to buy things that I don’t need or to spent on overpriced accomodation.

    • Hi, usually PE doesn’t come with lounge access (unless you have gold status or higher). If you have a single use lounge pass, you can attach it to your booking to gain lounge access.
