Privacy policy

We are strongly committed to protecting your privacy and this policy sets out how we strive to do so.

You should read this policy in conjunction with the full Website and Membership Service Use Terms and Conditions and Cards Disclosure.

In this policy, “we” or “us” or “our” refers to Fivebyfive Media Pty Ltd, the owner of the website thehighlife.com.au (“Website”) and the membership service offered at thehighlife.com.au/membership (“Membership Service”), and “you” refers to the user or viewer of the Website or Membership Service.

This policy outlines how we collect and handle your personal data. By using the Website or Membership Service, including any social media accounts associated with the Website or Membership Service, you consent to us collecting and handling your personal data in accordance with this policy.

Collection of personal data

We may collect your personal data when you use or interact with the Website or Membership Service and any of our social media accounts. This includes when you join the Membership Service, sign up for a newsletter, follow us on social media, comment on content, or communicate with us in any way. The data we collect may include your name, contact details or other personal information. The only way we collect this information is if you choose to provide it to us.

Use of personal data

We will only use your personal data for the purposes you provided it to us. We will not use your personal data for any purposes you have not consented to.

Disclosure of personal data

We may provide your data to third parties for the purpose of operating the Website or Membership Service. For example, this may include disclosing information to IT service providers and mailing list handling services. We will only disclose your data where it is necessary to do so.

We will disclose your data if required by law or for us to enforce our legal rights.

Except as outlined above, we will never disclose your name or contact details to a third party without your consent.

Security

We will strive to protect your privacy and security as best we can. Ultimately, however, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your personal data.

Third parties

We may link to third party products or services on the Website or Membership Service. The collection and handling of your personal data by those third parties is subject to their privacy policy. We do not take responsibility for the conduct of any third party.

Third parties may place and read cookies on your browsers or use web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving on the Website.

hCaptcha

We use the hCaptcha anti-bot service (hereinafter “hCaptcha”) on our Website. This service is provided by Intuition Machines, Inc., a Delaware US Corporation (“IMI”). hCaptcha is used to check whether the data entered on our Website (such as on a login page or contact form) has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, hCaptcha analyzes the behavior of the Website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the Website visitor enters a part of the Website with hCaptcha enabled. For the analysis, hCaptcha evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the Website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to IMI. hCaptcha analysis in the “invisible mode” may take place completely in the background. Website visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place if the user is not shown a challenge. Data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (DSGVO): the Website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam. IMI acts as a “data processor” acting on behalf of its customers as defined under the GDPR, and a “service provider” for the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). For more information about hCaptcha and IMI’s privacy policy and terms of use, please visit the following links: https://www.hcaptcha.com/privacy and https://www.hcaptcha.com/terms.

Contacting us about your personal data

You may contact us at any time to access, change or delete your personal information by using the contact form on the Contact Us page of the Website. You may also use that contact form if you have any questions about this policy or any other matter.
