Qantas and BP have launched the first stage of their new partnership with a very lucrative offer for business owners.
Businesses that sign up for a new BP Plus fuel card by 30 April 2020 and spend $150 per month on fuel will earn 10,000 bonus Qantas Points per month for the first five months (totalling 50k points).
In addition, by filling up with over 20,000 litres of fuel within the first six months, you’ll get an additional 50,000 bonus points. Obviously this is most relevant for businesses with a fleet of vehicles.
The BP Plus fuel card is now the exclusive fuel partner of Qantas Business Rewards (Qantas’ loyalty program for businesses) replacing the Caltex Starcard. As a cardholder you’ll earn 0.5-1 Qantas Point per litre of fuel and 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on in-store purchases. There are also discounts available as well as cash-flow benefits for your business as you get up to 51 days interest free to pay off purchases.
BP Plus is free to join, however there are monthly fees of $4.95 per card if you have 1-2 cards, or $2.20 per card for 3 or more cards.
Further stages of the tie-up should be announced soon. This will see Qantas Frequent Flyer become the cornerstone partner of BP’s new customer loyalty program, BP Rewards, replacing Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program. The BP Rewards program will allow regular consumers to earn Qantas Points on fuel and in-store purchases across participating BP retail sites.
