If you hold a batch of American Express Membership Rewards points and would like to use them for a hotel stay, right now you can score a big bonus on transfers to the Hilton Honors and Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programs.
Amex is offering 40% bonus points on transfers to Hilton and a 50% bonus on transfers to Marriott until 30 September 2022.
Your card must be enrolled in Amex’s Membership Rewards program to be able to manually transfer points. This includes the popular Explorer Credit Card (currently offering 75,000 bonus Membership Rewards points to new card members) and the Platinum Card (currently offering up to 200,000 bonus points).
While our focus is usually on spending points for business and first class flights, luxury travel is also about the places you stay on the ground – and here, too, points can be a gateway to memorable experiences, including ones that would be totally out of reach if you had to pay for them.
Transferring Membership Rewards points to Hilton or Marriott is a great way to experience high end luxury, or even just to save money. Both hotel groups have a huge number of properties worldwide, and redemption rates are solid.
Points transfers from Amex are easy – just visit the pages for Marriott or Hilton.
And if you’re not yet an Amex card member and would like to join, don’t miss the offers of 75,000 bonus Membership Rewards points with the Explorer Credit Card or up to 200,000 bonus points with our favourite Platinum Card.
