Get 30,000 bonus Velocity Points, 250 status credits or a $200 voucher with a new Velocity credit card

A lot of Virgin Australia loyalists were scared off during the pandemic when the airline went into administration and there was a real chance Velocity Points balances would be wiped out.

But Virgin Australia is in a strong position now and partnering with top airlines around the world, so it’s definitely worth once again collecting Velocity Points.

As regular readers already know, credit cards are one of the best sources of points.

Today, Virgin Australia has launched a generous promotion to encourage people to apply for a new Velocity Points earning credit card.

The airline is giving you the choice of 30,000 bonus Velocity Points, 250 status credits or a $200 Coles gift card.

That’s on top of any bonus points that come with the card itself.

For example, our top pick of Velocity cards – the American Express Velocity Platinum Card – comes with up to 100,000 bonus Velocity Points for new card members, to which you could add another 30k points with this promo.

30k Velocity Points is enough to book a return economy reward trip between Melbourne and Brisbane.

If you’re weighing up the 250 status credits, more information about how Velocity status works is available here.

To unlock this offer, choose your preferred benefit by 31 March 2023, then apply for a Velocity Points earning credit card with an annual fee, be approved and meet the minimum spend criteria for the individual credit card offer.

You should then receive your benefit within 30 days.

More information about this promo is on Velocity’s website here.

  1. Hi! I registered for the 250 SC and started my application prior to March 31, however haven’t completed it. If I complete it now, do you know if I will still be eligible for the promotion? Cheers!

    • I don’t know for sure, but the T&Cs say that registering for the SCs needs to occur by 31 March, not the card application/approval, so you’ve got a good shot!
