Two of Australia’s most popular retailers, Bunnings and Officeworks, have joined the flybuys loyalty program, with customers now able to earn flybuys points on eligible transactions.
Bunnings is the leading retailer of home improvement and lifestyle products in Australia while Officeworks is Australia’s leading retailer of stationery, furniture, technology and student supplies.
At Bunnings, customers can earn 1 flybuys point per $1 spent in-store. Points are not awarded for gift card purchases, donations, sausage sizzles, services (e.g. hire shop), delivery charges or Bunnings Marketplace purchases. The website also states that Flybuys points are “not yet available” for special orders or online purchases, which suggests they may be in the future.
At Officeworks, customers can earn 1 point per $1 spent in-store and online. This excludes gift cards, Print & Copy cards, iTunes cards, mobile plans & recharge cards, donations, services (e.g. product protection, furniture assembly, Geeks2U services, business services etc.), Print & Copy services and delivery charges. Flybuys points are not available for Officeworks Account Holders with an ABN and any transactions associated with an ABN, including 30 Day Account Business Account holders and account managed businesses.
The introduction of Bunnings and Officeworks adds to the extensive list of 23 Flybuys partners where members can earn and redeem points including at major retailers like Coles, Liquorland, Kmart, Target and Catch.
Flybuys points can be used to save with the participating retailers, but we prefer to convert them into Velocity Points for flying. You can transfer flybuys points to Velocity at a 2:1 ratio, though there are regular promotions where you can earn bonus points on these transfers. It’s best to wait for those promotions.
