Qantas partner Qatar Airways is back with great business class fares from Asia to Europe as part of its ‘Travel Festival’. This is a great opportunity for travellers who can position themselves in cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Phuket and want to arrive in Europe in style.
Qatar Airways is one of the world’s best airlines and has a highly regarded business class product. As it’s a Qantas partner, Qantas Frequent Flyers will earn a stack status credits and Qantas points for these flights (use the calculator here to find out how many).
I did a search for various routes and here are the best deals I found:
- Bangkok or Phuket to Bucharest, Vienna, Amsterdam, Helsinki or Edinburgh – from $2000 to $2300 return
- Kuala Lumpur to Helsinki, Paris or London – from $2550 to $2800 return
- Singapore to Oslo – $2500 return
These prices include an extra 15% discount which you can get by entering the promo code “Visa” when searching for flights on the Qatar Airways website.
Seats are available throughout 2017 except for some blackout dates in June and late August/early September. The sale officially ends on 16 January but seats are filling up fast so you need to be quick to book. All the terms and conditions are available here.
Qatar Airways is advertising many other offers as part of the Travel Festival but I had trouble matching the advertised prices for many routes – which is not unusual for Qatar’s sales.
This is yet another illustration of the hack I’ve previously posted about using Asia as a stopover to enjoy cheap premium fares to North America and Europe.
To position yourself in Asia, you’ll require a separate booking from Australia – use points or pay for a ticket (even if it’s in economy!). All the cities I’ve mentioned are great places to stop over.
To hear about these kinds of fares as soon as they come out, follow us on Facebook or subscribe to our newsletter.
