Earn 15% bonus Velocity Points on transfers from Amex and flybuys

For a limited time, Velocity Frequent Flyer is offering a handy 15% bonus points on transfers from flybuys and American Express Membership Rewards points.

This type of offer usually comes around twice a year and is a great opportunity to leverage your hard-earned points into bigger rewards.

While a 15% bonus is the norm, we’ve occasionally seen larger offers from Velocity in the past – so if you don’t have a specific booking in mind and can afford to wait, you may be able to get a bigger bonus later, but there’s no guarantee of that, of course.

The offer to get 15% bonus points on transfers from American Express Membership Rewards ends on 14 February 2018. This includes the Membership Rewards Ascent, Gateway, Premium Ascent, Business Ascent and David Jones Membership Rewards programs.

There’s a 2,000 point transfer minimum and you can make the transfer here.

The flybuys promotion ends on 22 February 2018. You can transfer your flybuys points in multiples of 2,000 (for 870 Velocity Points), up to a maximum of 138,000 flybuys points per calendar year per household (equivalent to 60,030 Velocity Points).

The flybuys offer is available here.

If you’re thinking about using Velocity Points to travel with Virgin Australia or partners like Singapore Airlines and Etihad, this is a great opportunity to save on the points required, or make your existing balance go further.

And if you want to take advantage of this offer the next time it comes around, don’t forget you can pick up a huge 100,000 Membership Rewards Bonus Points right now with my favourite Amex card, the American Express Explorer Credit Card.
