American Express is running its popular ‘Shop Small’ promotion again this year (much earlier than normal), giving card members the opportunity to get up to $50 back on purchases with small businesses over the next few months.
Amex has brought the initiative forward from its usual November time slot to help consumers and businesses affected by the current economic downturn.
From today, eligible card members can save the offer to their card and then when they spend $10 or more in one transaction online or in-store at participating small businesses they’ll receive a $5 credit.
You can claim the $5 credit up to 10 times, once per participating business, until 31 August 2020.
To save the offer, find it in the “Offers” section of the Amex app or your account online. Unlike in previous years, there’s no cap on the number of card members who can register for this deal.
Now in its eighth year, Shop Small is designed to support local economies while raising awareness that many small businesses accept Amex cards. Thousands of small merchants around the country are taking part in this initiative, from coffee shops to small boutiques and more.
You can view an interactive map of participating merchants here. Some online businesses are also included.
